Pivoting

Oh my how has it been that I have neglected the blog since 2016? It still is my most favorite little corner of the internet full of so many sweet, sweet memories. Today, the last day of January 2023, I'm filling out Addie's admission form for the high school she'll be attending next year and making plans for Liam to go to middle school. The saying "the days are long but the years are short" couldn't be more true.

addie goes to 2nd grade

It was a joyful and happy morning sending this girl off to 2nd grade! She wanted to go to bed early the night before and woke up all on her own! You would have thought it was Christmas morning! And yes, 2nd grade!!! My heart sinks a little as I write this.

Friends!!! This is Avalon and we got to have her over for a playdate earlier in the week. When Liam asked Addie if she was nice, Addie replied "Yep! And she's adventurous like me!"

Harbor and Saylor are the same age as Addie and Liam. It will be so special to watch them grow through the years, from PEP preschool to ACE!

All last year I got to pick this guy up from school and hear about his day on the way home, but Harbor is a Dixon boy now and won't be anywhere close to our commute home. I will miss this!

This week I got a text from this mama and friend, claiming stakes as Addie and Liam's Cali Auntie. Love her!

here comes year seven!

Our adventurous, smart, independent, and nature-loving girl is seven years old. She loves the water and asked for a wakeboard this birthday. Sadly, we were never able to find one her size that was under $300, but we bought her her own Poloroid camera, which she loves and takes everywhere she goes. She is all smiles taking pictures of anything in nature and especially pictures of Liam. The other day I watched her take a picture of her sleeping brother and gush over how cute he was as the picture developed. And our girl is such a tinker. Always building, creating or rigging something up, like a trap to catch a bird in our backyard, or a swing for stuffed animals made out of one of Kevin's beer boxes. We love her and all that she is becoming. Happy 7th Birthday Addelyn Ann.
