addie goes to 2nd grade

It was a joyful and happy morning sending this girl off to 2nd grade! She wanted to go to bed early the night before and woke up all on her own! You would have thought it was Christmas morning! And yes, 2nd grade!!! My heart sinks a little as I write this.

Friends!!! This is Avalon and we got to have her over for a playdate earlier in the week. When Liam asked Addie if she was nice, Addie replied "Yep! And she's adventurous like me!"

Harbor and Saylor are the same age as Addie and Liam. It will be so special to watch them grow through the years, from PEP preschool to ACE!

All last year I got to pick this guy up from school and hear about his day on the way home, but Harbor is a Dixon boy now and won't be anywhere close to our commute home. I will miss this!

This week I got a text from this mama and friend, claiming stakes as Addie and Liam's Cali Auntie. Love her!

We are so thankful our daughter belongs to this incredible charter school! The teachers and parents put on a reenactment of the first Thanksgiving. Everyone was dressed up in either pilgrim or Native American attire, families prepared and brought food from that time period, games were played and most definitely learning occurred! It is a amazing what a school can look like when you have a community of families (and teachers) devoted to their child's education!

I didn't get as many pictures of Addie's Halloween parade because I wasn't quite sure of the routine or where to stand but it was pretty neat seeing all of the classes marching around on the playground to some Halloween tunes.

The Widmer's

I started this blog just before Kevin and I decided we were ready to start our family. Since we had ventured away from the place where we were both born and raised, my hope was to lessen the distance for family and friends with this blog. Overtime, it has also become a place for my children. Addelyn and Liam, I hope that no matter where life may take you, you'll always be able to look back on this blog and see all of the amazing memories you gave your Dad and I. Most of all, I want you to know how cherished and loved you are and always will be.
