The Magical Reappearing Hat

Yesterday morning Kevin and I were busy doing chores around the house and we decided that we'd take off the top part of the pack n' play because Addie was getting too big. Then we could just use it as a place for her to play. When I came back in from taking out the recycling it was very quiet. I turned the corner and there was our little girl playing all by herself with what do you know... the most hideous hat I have ever seen!
Somehow this hat that Daddy purchased in the dollar section at Target keeps magically reappearing. How could I get rid of it now? So many good laughs.

Half a Year Old

Addelyn was a half a year old on the 8th of this month! At her check up she weighed 20lbs. 6oz. and was 26 1/2 in. long. This puts her in the 98th percentile for weight and the 78th percentile for height. We are truly first time parents and are continually in awe of all of her accomplishments and growth. At sixth months Addie can...

1. Give us a big ol' smile showing her two teeth.
2. Sit up all by herself.
3. Grab her toys, Momma's hair, and last night her spoon, all which go right into her mouth.
4. Create a symphony of raspberries, motor boats, and tootin' noises. Daddy loves to join in.
5. Eat many foods including carrots, bananas, apples, squash, pears... but not PEAS or anything Mom makes in the food processor.
6. Almost sleep through the night in her very own bedroom!!!

When they say your heart swells with love I absolutely know what this means.

Sleepin' like a big girl

It was my New Year's resolution to have Addie sleep in her own bedroom. So when we got home and settled from the holidays, we started putting her in her own room. I dreaded this day (night actually). When we go to bed, everyone gets cozy in our room: Daddy, Momma, the dog, the cat and of course Addie. Thanks to our video monitor and thin walls I'm doing okay with the change, as for Addie, well the picture tells all. This is how I found her the morning of her first night in her very own bedroom.
