World by the Tail

Addelyn Ann you are such a funny girl! You are now walking and talking and you've got the world by the tail! Each day you surprise us with things you've learned. Such as...
  • When Dada was playing with his electric razor and you took it from him and then pretended to start shaving his face.
  • This morning you picked up Bentley's collar and put it around your neck. When Dada asked if you we're a doggie, you said, "woof!" and kept on walking.
  • Whenever we are in the backyard you point to the garden and say, "nana nana!" (because that's the only word you know for food). You love to eat the tomatoes, raspberries and strawberries from the garden.
  • When we were folding clothes today, you had your own pile going. In your own adorable way, you folded your clothes and set them in a pile too.
  • You still love your books. When we read Hooray for Fish, you always remember the page with the "grumpy fish" and make a grunting noise when we get to that page. When we read Daddy Hugs or Mommy Hugs you try to say all the "I love you's" on number 10. I hope I never forget that sound!
  • We've started to let you watch a little bit of tv and you love the Baby Genius DVD you got for your birthday. You get so excited and shriek and squeal when you see the familiar characters.
  • And the dancing. How could we forget?! Anytime you here a little ditty whether it be from your toys or on the tv you do a little wiggle worm move, shake your head, or do some raisin' the roof. I wonder where you picked that up from....hmmm?

Baby Steps

Those little chubby legs are on the move! Addie started taking one or two steps all by herself in Hawaii and last weekend at Uncle Brentie and Auntie Leeanne's she just about walked across their living room! I finally caught some on video; here's a little blip of our baby girl walking tonight.

Mighty Marek's 1st Birthday

This weekend we celebrated our nephew and cousin, Marek's first birthday! He is such a sweet and adorable boy and I couldn't be a prouder Auntie. We love him so much!

Just about every time I pointed my camera at him and said, "Cheeeeese!" he'd give me a big ol' smile. We loved it!One of our gifts to our little superhero, Mighty Marek.Pushing her cousin in the great walker Grandma Annette and Grandpa Jim got him.Serious Bid-nessGrammy

Hawaii with our baby girl.

Kevin's work provided us with yet, another trip to Hawaii! So while Dada worked until about 2 pm, Addie and I played on the beautiful island of Oahu! It's amazing how the view changes when you have a little one with you. It was almost like we'd never been there before.
So happy to have arrived!
Dada so happy to have arrived too! We love this restaurant and have dined here while watching the 2009 Superbowl and many other nights. Couldn't be happier to now say 'table for 3!"

Enjoying some melon on the beach.
Ahh the beach! (And watermelon! See dripping juices down bathing suit!)
Busy playing in the sand, only later to discover it's good for snacking on too.
Dada came and met us poolside when he was done for the day.
After spending much time examining my belly button, she started looking for her own. Where's mine Mama? The beginning of our hike up Diamond Head.
Pali Lookout. There was a slight breeze that day.
After a great scenic drive, we came across Black Beard's ship and the filming crews of Pirates of the Caribbean IV!
Found his treasure.
Playing on the North Shore beach.
We love the beauty and culture of the North Shore!

She got a kick out of being barried!
At dinner with our little Hawaiian girl.
I think this might be my favorite picture.
After dinner, we went back to the beach on the North Shore. A local had tipped us off, that we'd find sea turtles on a particular shore. We did! He was absolutely amazing!
Mahalo sea turtle!
Just us, a sea turtle, the ocean, and the sunset. (and a random person taking our photo)
Our last night, but the best night in a long time.
We look forward to many more great times in Hawaii.
