First Camping Trip of the Season

We spent our Memorial Day weekend with three other families on the Mokelumne River. We ate good, the kids and dogs played hard and although it poured on us Saturday night we enjoyed a cozy family night in our tent. We have two more camping trips planned for this summer and we sure are looking forward to them!

Bentley and Addie
Addie's buddy, Jenna.
Thoroughly enjoying the mud puddle.
Addie, Daddy, Michelle, and there's one more in this picture, Christopher! Can't wait to meet our friend's baby boy in September!
Tyler and Thomas playing with mud and trucks.
Addie was enamored by the mud and trucks but just hung back and watched.
Our view for the weekend. Can you just hear the sound of the rushing river lolling you to sleep?
Our rainy Saturday night.

Coming Home

When we got back home we were greeted by a tall handsome man, lots of glorious sunshine and few other things too...

Meg's Shower

This last weekend I had the honor of hosting a shower for my good friend Meg! I'm bummed I wasn't able to fit my good camera in our bags to Oregon but I got some okay pics for memory sake. Love you Meg and can't wait to meet you Baby Dawson!

A Kick Back Weekend

The next two weekends will be very busy for us, so this weekend was a lay-around-the-house kind for us Widmers. We got out the play house, made some crafty pancakes and watched the rain pass through.

I tried my hand at this cool pancake idea. I need lots of practice to say the least.
Got her "hood" up so she can go outside in the rain.
You've got your head covered, but what about your tummy silly?!

A Mama's Day

This morning I was greeted by my sweet baby girl and my thoughtful husband with cards and gifts. After our relaxing morning, we decided to head to the Dixon May Fair.
We saw the farm animals, rode on a train, ate some garlic fries, and rode on the carousel. It was a good day.
Words cannot express the honor and gratitude I feel for being a mom.

Addelyn loves to point to the necklace I'm wearing and say, "Mama's necklace." I reply with, "What's on my necklace?" and she says, "A for Addelyn." Makes my heart melt everytime.
Addie was a little nervous around the piggies today.
She loved the bunnies though and would say very loudly, "HELLO BUNNY!" We would giggle and tell her..."we think the bunny can hear you, just look at those big ears."
She loved the chickens too and we noticed a few had laid eggs, which reminded Kevin and I of our hope to one day have our own chicken coupe and fresh farm eggs. Okay maybe not "farm" eggs.
I wish I could have recorded her rooster sounds.
Our day would not have been complete without some cows. Addie asks just about every other day to put on her cow costume. She still loves to run around the house making the cow bell jingle. But sadly, I think the cow bell has gone missing...hmmm.
Nice angle on the goat. Sorry.
We ended the animal section with the crazy sheep, that were probably very ready to go home.
Diaper wedgie!
On the train with daddy...
And Mama.

Sometimes a Mama has to do a little bragging...

The other night at the dinner table, Addie started saying the days of the week. We were floored! It's not perfect but she is sure working on them! Here's a list and videos of just how smart our little girl is becoming.
At 21 months Addie can...
  • sing the entire alphabet
  • name the letters in her name
  • count from 1-10
  • recognize numbers 1-10 out of order
  • name all colors from primaries to pastels
  • name all shapes, including zig zag
(Just click pause on the music, if you want to hear just her.)
