sunday hike-day

We're going to try to go on a new hike at least once a month. So here's January's hike at Lynch Canyon. It was beautiful and we felt like we were hiking in Ireland with lots of beautiful, rolling, green hills!
And they're off!
Checking his map!

He found himself a walking stick to go along with his map!

My fearless, trail-blazing, nature-loving daughter.

rush ranch

We live very close to a historical ranch and every year they have an open house with lots of things to do and learn. We had a nice little afternoon and I think I have a new favorite spot for taking pictures too!
Walkin' down the gravel road to all the excitement!
Horses don't bite, right?
What about snakes?!
Watchin' the square dancers twirl in their fancy skirts.
Love this one of our flower picker.
This one too.

out and about in the rain

Just wanted to remember this simple and sweet day running errands out in the rain with my two littles.
Sharing the umbrella, which is such a novelty here in California!
Grocery shopping at Trader Joes.

Yikes! Watch your heels!

first day of spring hike

I try to plan a field trip once a month for my homeschooling families and welcome other friends too. This month was a hike up at Rockville Hills and it was a perfect spring day just for that! We had a picnic lunch at the top by the lake and the kids had a great time catching tadpoles, fish and even a frog. Addie was completely in her element and I could barely pull her away from catching the tadpoles and fish. Liam on the other hand, is still not as excited about unpredictable wild animals but we'll keep working on him and hopefully one day he'll enjoy it just as much as his big sister!

funderland

For Christmas, my cousin Kyle and his wife Linsey gave our kids money for Funderland. It was such a great gift and the kids had a blast! Here's the proof!

Thank you again Kyle and Linsey!

lindsay wildlife museum field trip

In January, I organized another field trip for my Visions families. This month we went to the Lindsay Wildlife Museum. Before we met my families, Addie, Liam and I had a picnic lunch and played at the neighboring park. It was another beautiful January day in sunny California!

a january hike

It was another beautiful winter day in California with nothing to do but go on a hike! So we hit Rockville Hills and it was even more gorgeous than our iphones could capture!

Our own personal Dora the Explorer with the map. She had a great time telling us which way to go.

I love how he wants to be just like big sister.

a little trip to tahoe

After a little cabin fever it was time to get out! So we headed to Tahoe to take the kids tubing. Thanks to my Dad and Terri, we had a gift card to Sierra at Tahoe! It was perfect!
