Kevin had a trade show in Squaw Valley and thought to bring us along for a little family vacation! I feel so grateful for the opportunities that have come with Kevin's job at Cues, not to mention the steady income it provides and the hard working man my husband is. So much to be thankful for.
Our three night stay at The Resort at Squaw Creek was incredible! Every where we looked there were scenic views. I must have said, "this is so beautiful!" a hundred times. The people were friendly, the food was good, and the weather was perfect! I can't wait to go back!
The kids and I took in the view from the lobby as Kevin checked us in. |
My pictures are a poor capture of what our eyes really got to see. It really was picturesque! |
This was the view from our room. I know. UH-mazing! |
After getting settled in we headed down to the pool(s)! The pool with the slide was the most popular with us Widmers! Kevin and I had a brief daydream of ordering adult beverages from the pool cabana and relaxing. But before we knew it our drinks were warm, and we were headed down the slide again with our babies! Ha! Ha! What were we thinking?! |
Love those happy faces! |
Later that night, we headed into Tahoe City for dinner. Then we walked across the street down to the lake, Lake Tahoe that is, and enjoyed a park and live music! |
Here's a video of our happy night at Commons Beach in Lake Tahoe.
Each morning we would eat breakfast in our room enjoy the view. |
Then I would pack the kids up for a nice long walk down to a park. |
We had the park all to ourselves every morning! |
Here Addie is pushing Liam, very gently, in the swing. |
There was a perfect-sized slide for Liam! As you can tell he enjoyed it! |
A little snuggling time back in the room before Liam went down for his nap (and before I changed his big pee diaper). |
After his nap, Liam caught up on a few emails for Daddy while he was downstairs at the trade show. |
There's our Daddy at his Cues booth! |
And here we are at The Village! This is a beautiful place at the bottom of the ski lift, full of hip restaurants, neat shops and amazing places to stay. |
Doing the tourist thing. |
At The Village there was a shop called Hunky Dory where you can make your own candles. So Addie and I stopped in and she made her own rainbow, heart-shaped, mandarin-scented candle. |
On our last night, we stopped in the lobby for a couple of games of chess. We had some good laughs playing with Addie while she found creative ways to win the game. Hmmm...we might have to teach her to tame that competitive side. |

Looks like a wonderful get-a-way for you all. Some great pics of the kids. I especially like the one of them walking together in the Village, holding hands. So sweet!
