March Madness

As many of you know this month I turned 30 and if there's one thing I've learned at the ripe old age of 30 it's that things don't always go as planned. Our plans for my 30th was to meet Kevin in Hawaii for a long weekend and Mom would come to watch Addie. The thought of this wasn't easy and I found myself counting down the days I had left with my baby girl, instead of the days I had till I was in Hawaii.

So the day arrived and I boarded the plane bawling at the thought of my first night away from her and as the doors were about to close I got a call from Kevin, who said..."Your Mom's been in an accident, but they are okay." I ran off the plane and my good friend Jen came to pick me up to meet Mom and Addie at the hospital. They were okay, aside from a bruise on Addie's neck where the seat belt restrained her and the soreness Mom felt from the impact.

They had been rear-ended by two cars on the freeway. I am so thankful that we have the safe car we have and I am thrilled it is repairable. My mom could not even recognize the car in the middle and our car is simply bent under with the back window still intact.

Kevin was able to come home that night and I can't begin to count all the blessings I am thankful for, from a good friend who came and got me, to having my baby safe in my arms. It will be a while before we are ready to leave her again, but I still remain strong in believing that it is important for Addie to grow up in a home with two parents who make their love and marriage a priority.

So happy they are safe! Love you Mom!
