Thanksgiving, a birthday and some BINGO!

A turkey day craft!
Happy Birthday Grammy! We love you!

We played our second annual Bingo game and Addie loved being the assistant. She'd say "OH, NO! There's another one!"
Later that night we went over to Grandpa Sitowski's to have some dessert. In our haste, I forgot my camera, so the only picture we have is this creepy one from a cell phone.
We look like the Cullen's, the vampire family from Twilight.

Randoms from Oregon

I couldn't resist posting these great pictures from our trip. They bring smiles to my face!
Eating toast at Grammy's.
Hysterically laughing at Uncle Brentie/Ape Man getting the babies.
Scary...but she laughed her face off!
Cousin Marek helping me give Addie a bath.
More laughter with Auntie Jan!

Treasured Time

We are so grateful Gramma Jody and Grandpa Bill came down from Olympia, Washington to meet us in Eugene. Distance is a killer and it makes our time with them that much more special!
Feeding some very aggressive ducks and geese, that we later learned we probably shouldn't have. Ooops.
Addelyn decided to start counting as they lined up and headed for the pond.

20 Weeks

It's a...

BABY BOY!!! Kevin and I truly couldn't have cared either way but we are thrilled to get one of each! Addie seems to be stuck on "it's a baby siser." We know she'll come around and will be a great big sister.

That night before our ultrasound I could barely sleep, but in my moments of rest I had a dream that we went to have our appointment at one of the Asian nail salons (I know crazy random) and the Vietnamese woman who was doing my ultrasound told me in her very thick accent, it was a cowboy! I replied, "It's not a cowgirl?" (just to make sure I understood her through her accent) and she said, "No, it's a cowboy." Well, that little Vietnamese woman in my dreams was right!

Here's some pictures of our night out with family making the announcement and celebrating. Gramma Jody and Grandpa Bill, I think you might have better pictures you'll have to send to us.
We had dinner at Mazzi's and for dessert Kevin and I had cupcakes made with blue frosting inside, from none other than Sweet Life. Our family didn't know whether they would see pink frosting or blue inside the cupcakes.
Frantically getting into their cupcakes to find out which color!
Addie just enjoying a cupcake!
It was blue!!! Now for a name...

Thankful for...

This time of year there are so many things to stop and be thankful for, but one of the things I'm thankful for are friends. Last week Kevin and I had a very important ultrasound appointment and our friends, the Linnets, took Addie for us with no hesitation! Nic and Crystal are both Kindergarten teachers (except I recruited Crystal to be a homeschool teacher with me) and Addie loves going to their home to play with her buddy Skylar. Here's a pic of Addie's morning with the Linnets!
Making one of three pinecone crafts.
She made an owl, an ornament, and a bird feeder.
Here's her bird feeder hanging in our backyard, just begging some birds to come by and snack.

Our Dear Friends, The Powell's!

Melissa and Nate came to visit and celebrate a Duck win with us last weekend! For those of you who don't know who they are, gosh where do I begin...for starters, Kevin has been friends with them since high school (1980 what?), Mel introduced us that night at the OBar, Kevin was a groomsman in their wedding and Mel a bridesmaid in ours, and all of our beautiful nursery furniture...yep that was the Powell's.
Tailgating on the farm.
Had to find me a maternity Duck shirt! It was a must!

Adorable.
Yeah baby! That's what were talkin' about! Go ducks!
Lost among the tress looking for our car on the way back!
Out celebrating a Duck win and Melissa's birthday!
Ahoy matees! Setting off for some lunch in another town, Benicia, the next day.
Nate enjoying the California sun!
Walking off our yummy lunch.

Croup-y Poopy

Last week Addie was battling the croup. She was absolutely pitiful. After Kevin and I did everything we knew to do for her, including several calls to the after-hours nurse and sleeping in her bedroom because her breathing sounded so scary, we finally had had enough and took her into the ER. The doctor was wonderful. He ordered her a steroid and although she fought all three of us (Kevin, the nurse and me) on taking the prednisone, which resulted in a shot, we all left feeling a little better. As parents, Kevin and I left with no regrets and felt immensely grateful that we have good medical insurance. And although it's not a perfect system, we are also grateful for the quality of our country's healthcare.
Our little goof-ball, waiting for the doctor in her hospital gown.

16 weeks

I'm technically 17 weeks now while writing this, if anyone's counting, but I thought I'd update some pictures of the growing belly!
I'm starting to feel some flutters and we get to hear the baby's heartbeat on the home-Doppler I purchased. Addie loves to squirt the gel on my tummy, but looses interest quickly. It takes me quite a while to find the heartbeat and when I do it's gone within a few seconds. There's one active little baby in there! Hard to believe that from crown to rump the baby is already over 5 inches long, has all major organs and it's own unique fingerprints!

On Halloween Night!

There is a repetitious book I've been reading to Addie that ends each page with, "...on Halloween night!" It's so cute to hear her finish the page for me and it's what came to mind when titling this post.

Here's some pics and video of our Halloween night with a very sweet and brave little peacock!
(Note to self, trick-or-treating doesn't begin till 7-ish. Eat dinner first!)

This is the only place the entire night she got a little creeped out.
I had to push the doorbell for her at this home.  Can you blame her?!
