Five Years

‎"Their journey led them to love...which led to marriage...which led to parenthood...which led her to wonder if one lifetime was long enough to share with this man she loved to love." Happy Anniversary Kevin Widmer! I love you!

A Day With Skylar

We got to watch Skylar on Friday and I don't know who had more fun, me or the kids?! The last time Addie and Skylar hung out they had many single words and a few sayings, but didn't really know how to communicate with each other. Today was completely different and it was so fun to watch them interact and converse!

Here's just a few of their conversations...

Addie: See my new dress Sklyar? (As she's pulling her dress up and down, flashing her diaper.) It's got flowers on it. What doing buddy?
Skylar: I'm bonking the balls. I need to. (Very busy bonking the balls and completely uninterested in her dress.)
Addie: Dood job Skylar!

Here's some video of our silly Addie spinning in her dress for Skylar, after this conversation took place.

Later, after lunch Skylar and Addie made a joint masterpiece. As I was quietly picking up lunch, I heard them say...

Addie: Making an ocean?
Skylar: Yeah, dolphins.
Addie: That's right Skylar!

And of course then I reached for the camera, and here's what I got.

I couldn't resist snapping a few more pictures of these cutie pies.

Girls' Slumber Party

Well that was the plan at least. Kevin was gone for a trade show in Redding and everytime he's gone I realize how comforting it is to have him next to me at night. (Even if he wakes me up half dozen times.) So I thought why not let Addie sleep with me, as a special treat when Daddy's gone. Ummm, here's how it went...

Addie: Whoa, it's dark in here.
Me: Yes, it's night time. Now go to sleep.
Addie: (In a whisper voice as she's stroking my face and giving me kisses.) You okay Mama? Mama sleepin'.
Me: I'm okay, Mama is sleeping. If you don't go to sleep too, you're going to have to go back into your own bed.
Addie: More water Mama? Where's elephant?

After about an hour of this and lots of wallering all over me (now five after ten) I took her into her own room, where she fell fast asleep right away. Just too exciting sleeping with Mama I guess. We'll have to try when she's a little bit older.
